You may recall that R&B legend Eddie Floyd ("Knock On Wood") began working on a Christmas album last year.  A lot of artists learn, recording such an album, that the window for releasing holiday music is a lot shorter than it looks in April.  So Eddie's full album release was delayed, though you gotta give the man mad props for giving us two of his holiday songs as free downloads.

Eddie's Christmas album, "I'll Be Your Santa Claus", released today (November 20) via CD Baby.  It's 10 songs (well, nine and a medley) of smooth soul and classic R&B.  And not a "White Christmas" or "Santa Baby" in the bunch.  Eddie serenades "At Christmas Time", Doo Wops a "Do Wop Christmas" splendidly for all you street corner Santas, and, if you're looking for something to shake that thang a little harder, there's "Santa And The Boys".  Right now, the record shows as a digital download only.  Maybe we'll get some hard copy CDs before Christmas.  Either way, all in all, a set worth the wait from the 75 year old treasure that is Eddie Floyd.  And, don't forget, you can still get those two Christmas songs from last year free at Eddie Floyd's web site.  You're welcome.
