Well, we were early last night, so it's only fitting we be really late tonight (expect us to be late Thursday night, too, as Mrs. Katz--not her real name--has a doctor's appointment). Between the hours (literally hours) it takes me to go through my email and my browser issues, it'll be a Christmas and Hanukkah miracle if we're still here through Christmas. Oy vey! Onward.
"Outside of December" is available through Amazon (natch).
Hanukkah being less of a Holy Day and more of a Holiday on the Jewish calendar, someone thought maybe the music of Matisyahu could be a bit too serious for the occasion. Or maybe the name just had the right number of syllables for a parody tune. Though there's no single available anywhere and no real identifying information on this parody video, it's from Shmuel Braun (and friends), the leader of Simchaband. "Tell Matisyahu That We Won" is the tune. It's got a nice 50s vibe I appreciate. Though I do wish there were a single or download available.
So, no. No Adam Sandler here tonight. Instead, in a bit of cosmic synchronicity, we bring Adam's tune together with the mega-monolith that is coming December 18. Yes, that's right.......the new Star Wars movie. Being from 2011, this track relates to the last set of Star Wars movies, but the point is made. Doctor Demento favorite Luke Ski with "The Star Wars Chanukah Song", available for 99 cents on Bandcamp.
