Broussard, who hails from Louisiana, is known for his--hey, there's no better word--Gumbo of musical styles and sounds. Wikipedia calls his sound "Bayou Soul", but the word "rock" ought to appear in their somewhere, too. Marc's been a staple of college radio and the Indie charts since 2002. Since that time, Broussard has recorded for Island, Atlantic and Vanguard, but the Christmas album will be his first independent release since his debut disc, "Momentary Setback".
There will be ten songs on the album--eight traditional and two originals. And we know "O Holy Night" is on there, thanks to a quick teaser video.
One thing we do not know is the title of the album. But, then, neither does Marc...yet. Marc is letting his fans suggest album titles as part of a social media contest. To participate (and I'm not seeing the cutoff date), head to the teaser video and read the directions below the vid. FOLLOW THEM. While following the directions, you should list your suggestion(s) in this Facebook post, not on YouTube. Got it? Got it. I'd hurry, though--he's been getting hundreds of suggestions for two weeks now. The winner gets lots of considerations including a credit on the album, an autographed copy of the album, and two VIP passes to a Marc Broussard performance (including a meet & greet with the man, himself). Me? I just wanna hear the album.
Here's another holiday song from Marc--this one from "Sessions At Willow Grove" last Christmastime.
