I know it's obnoxious that we're still finding new releases at this late date (more to come, I promise you), but you'd rather know this is out there than not know, wouldn't you? Or not.
Anyway, the original "Cashing In On Christmas" was a satirical effort by the group Bad News in 1992. Bad News was actually the same comedic troupe that made the brilliant, if short lived, British sitcom "The Young Ones".
In 1996, a compilation of original Punk Christmas recordings carried the title. It became something of an underground "classic"--certainly among Punk and Oi fans.
It's taken 14 years for a sequel, but "Cashing In On Christmas 2" has arrived. Make no mistake, this is pretty much straight forward Punk. There's no Punk Pop to speak of. No Punk Metal. Just Punk. Individually, there are lots of great songs, here. The Sheckies do a terrific (if explicit) "Holly Jolly Christmas", and the songs by Dog Company, Doomed To Obscurity, Jukebox Zeros and Mean Streets all have great mixtape potential. There's plenty of explicit language, as well, as there likely should be in a Punk record.
Amazon is showing the mp3 version, as is iTunes, but to get the physical CD it looks as though you'll have to order direct from Black Hole Records or from independent merchants, such as Interpunk. Not a bad price, though. Just $7.99 from Black Hole and $8.25 at Interpunk.
