Cassie Ramone used to be with the Vivian Girls who, though I haven't heard a lot of their music, I liked what I had heard. The band broke up last year and Cassie's going it solo. I believe "Christmas In Reno" is her second album and it's made up of covers of familiar Christmas tunes. And anywhere you go online, people are raving about it. Or at least they're saying this is one you have to hear. This is what all the cool kids are listening to this year. Eh. I don't get it. Through half of the songs, I swear I could hear her laughing and mocking the people who bought it. And no CDs for this one, either...just vinyl, cassette and digital. Are CDs uncool, too, now?
Well, look. You're old enough to make up your own minds and I know you will. Maybe I'm just gettin' too old. You kids with your fancy schmancy music. Get off my lawn!
There were two songs on the album I sort of liked. One was "White Christmas" and the other was "Run Run Rudolph". Fortunately, "Run Run Rudolph" is the tune the label chose to make a free download. Use the widget above or head for Soundcloud. For the rest, you're on your own.
