Among the many free tracks being offered up at Amazon this holiday season, there's this gem that a lot of people may miss. The Korgis were a British pop band who scored a Top 20 hit in 1980 with the unforgettable "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime". In the US, the band was a one-hit wonder, but they fared a little better overseas. Personality and business issues ("creative differences"?) split the band after their third album, with James Warren briefly attempting to continue with different band mates. The second generation Korgis reunited about a decade later for a brief time. As best as I can determine, "Wish You A Merry Christmas" was only released in 1980 as a single in France, for some reason. Promotional copies were issued in England, but I'm not sure that commercially available copies were. To this day, the single version of "Wish You A Merry Christmas" has never been released on CD or digitally, as far as I know. This version is either an alternate take or, more likely, a re-recording (same track as on The "Korgis Kollection"). But it doesn't sound too much different. Nice track. Definitely worth the price. Pick it up for free on Amazon MP3.
