One of the highlights of the Christmas season every year, for me, is the Christmas podcast(s) of "Tom Robinson Introducing". Tom Robinson's weekly show is all about introducing you to artists and songs rocking the Net and the Indie scene. Inevitably, there's the Christmas program (excuse me, programme)--wall-to-wall Christmas music including some tracks you might never discover without Tom, as well as a few old favorites (excuse me, favourites). This year's Christmas show is done up as a parody of Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" (whenever Tom can manage to stay in character). In between the campy dialogue, you get music from Standard Fare, Spaceships Are Cool, Jay Spears, Jonah Brody, Swimming, Mexican Kids At Home, Bit Shifter, Hold Your Horse Is, The Grave Architects, Broohaha, Planet Creature, Colorama, Tom Williams And The Boat, Fever Fever, Trwbador, and The Christmas Gang. Some of those singles are free downloads, some you have to buy, but they're all pretty amazing. We've linked up the free ones (we could find) in the post, here. But you should really download and listen to the podcast first. And if something that isn't linked strikes your fancy, like Broohaha's amazing holiday opus or Fever Fever's best-ever take on the Bing & Bowie duet, just know that they're out there. Oh, and if Mr. Robinson's to be believed, he should have another Christmas podcast coming Christmas night (excuse me, Boxing Day eve).
