Anyway, H a v e you met CHUCK? CHUCK is Brooklyn's Charles Gifford Gibson, a man of many multi-media talents (his website is more of an on-line resume than anything else). But, please, call him CHUCK.
We're, here, mostly interested in the music of CHUCK. And, in that regard, CHUCK is an avant-garde experimental DIY sometimes Lo-Fi purveyor of Alternative Pop. That's just a long, overly thought and wrought way of saying he's slightly off-center...but in a good way.
"Happy New Years Babe" is the title track of a 2015 CHUCK release. And I don't know that I've ever used this term in describing music, but the entire record is what I can only describe as "Neato Keen". The whole thing is just...a ball of fun, smile inducing....Neato Keen. Take a chance. Go on, you could use a smile, I know that you could. It's name-your-price, after all, and CHUCK won't even ask for your email.
The song itself (and, really, stop thinking and just enjoy) is more "New Years" as analogy than holiday. Bad relationship, devastated, landed on my feet, got over it, looking good, it wasn't me it was you, and, hey, it's a New Year, babe, it's a New Me, this is My town, now, and you're going to realize that YOU blew it. It's just Neato Keen. Grab the whole record (with other Neato Keen sounds like "Basement Lights of The Library", "Goodbye Forever", and "Bushwick Girl") at Bandcamp.
