1. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town 2. Jingle Bells 3. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer |
"A Very Copacetic Christmas" is just three well-known Christmas songs but, given the price, I'm sure not going to complain.
The Copacetics have been laying down the Ska beats and exploring the other Reggae sub-genres for about a decade. You can hear that horn section is pretty tight. They've shared the stage with such acts as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Third World, Yellowman, The Slackers, Toasters, The Skatalites, and many others...you know, your basic who's who of Ska and Reggae. They won the Motif Award for best Reggae/Ska act for every year from 2014 through 2017 and they won the Motif Award as best Alternative Act for 2018. I believe their most recent album is "Ska Royale". The title cut of that one is really great, but, if you like to stretch the limits of what counts as Christmas music on your mixtapes, try "Wreck A Pum Pum" (which isn't exactly the "Little Drummer Boy" melody, but close enough; I do weird stuff like that all the time on my mixes).
Of the three songs on "A Very Copacetic Christmas", I find myself partial to "Jingle Bells". Just sayin'. By the way, the EP from The Copacetics is name-your-price, but you should also know that any money they do raise from tips and what not will be going to the local charity Good People Doing Good. Bandcamp is your destination for Christmas music from The Copacetics.
