"Let's Spend Christmas In Our Bed" from Gang Clouds is "name your price" at Bandcamp. You can still grab "Will You Send Me An Old Fashioned Christmas Card (This Year)", as well. And, if we're all very good boys and girls, maybe Gang Clouds will bring us another musical Christmas present this year.
I owe Gang Clouds a bit of an apology. We first met Gang Clouds in 2016, when we celebrated the French Indie Pop outfit's "Will You Send Me An Old Fashioned Christmas Card (This Year)". On or about the day I got out of the hospital last year, a member of the group left a message that they had a new Christmas song. And, for whatever reason, I never saw it. I think, initially, I wasn't looking and then the site host (probably after a month) said, "OK for you then." The message didn't show up until the other day when Ernie left his comment on Fleming and John. Ironically, Gang Clouds' 2017 Christmas single, "Let's Spend Christmas In Our Bed", is about being sick at Christmas. If you've been waiting for a joyous holiday tune that mentions ibuprofens, puke, and suppositories, your prayers have been answered. Aside from Gang Clouds' cool sound, taking a song about being sick at Christmas and turning it into something upbeat and joyful...well, that's a twist even Chubby Checker could appreciate. "Let's share our viruses with everyone." Christmas spirit doesn't get much better than that. And, when you think about it, there's a valuable lesson for all of us in "Let's Spend Christmas In Our Bed", by way of analogy. Holiday cheer is contagious, so let's spread it around.
