Music runs through the veins of Josh Tatofi. It's as much a part of his bloodstream as his Hawaiian and Tongan heritage. His father and uncle are founding members of the legendary Hawaiian group Kapena and even his sister has a band. For Josh, music was pretty much a hobby. His father encouraged him to keep it that way while his sister told Josh he was a terrible singer, not good enough to be in her band. It wasn't until 2014 that Josh decided to venture into recording and shoot for the brass ring. His debut album, "Pua Kiele", made people in the music industry take notice. Mixing traditional Hawaiian music with more modern R&B, Tatofi's smooth and soulful voice and style have been compared to no lesser an icon than Brian McKnight. HawaiianMusicLive calls him "the Polynesian Luther Vandross". Nominated for a Grammy, his father now tells Josh, "You're pretty good", though his sister still won't let him sing in her band.
Last December, Josh Tatofi, accompanied by Kapena Delima (son of another founding member of Kapena), went into the studio to record a song for the season. Video only, it was, if you will, a social media experiment.

The video for "Who Would Imagine A King?" was so well received that Josh (along with Kapena Delima) are currently working on a full Christmas album, as well as another Hawaiian music album.
"Pua Kiele" did not win a Grammy, unfortunately, but it did win many a heart and portends a bright future for Josh Tatofi.
