In his over 40 years of playing, writing and singing, Dick Deluxe has done a little of everything and, to quote Johnny Cash, he's been everywhere, man. His inspiration and mentor was the late and great Mance Lipscomb. Though Mance is thought of as a Bluesman, his philosophy was that, to entertain any given audience on any given day, you had to be prepared to play everything from waltzes to marches. Dick then spent some time in the Punk scene and, OMG, played with The Residents and Snakefinger (Snakefinger is awesome, man; go get ya some). He's played with the likes of Lowell Fulsom, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, The Sundogs, Queen Ida, Paul Revere & The Raiders, Pat Boone and Ed Asner (I s#@% you not). After taking a break for a few years to raise his family, Dick returned to music as a frontman, to play and record his own songs. And it's worked out alright. Dick's 2017 album, "Turning 61 on Highway 61", which featured the underground cult favorite "I'm Quitting Dope Next Month", was a critical smash.
"Dive Bar Christmas" was released in 2017, but it never made it to Amazon or iTunes or CD Baby (still hasn't). The only place I've seen it available online is The Louisiana Music Factory. So, in case you missed it...... You can preview the songs on "Dive Bar Christmas" at Soundcloud.
