Kathryn's a Christian artist from Virginia with, judging from her 2011 EP "Made For Me", a nice rich pop sound on her more up tempo tracks, but with a really moving ethereal sort of Indie sound on her ballads ("Through The Rain", for example). She's been compared to Sara Groves and Sara Bareilles; for some reason, I kept thinking of Paula Cole. Anyway, Kathryn's got less than three weeks remaining to reach her monetary goal to produce the record and your help would be very much appreciated.
I, for one, love these sorts of interactive album projects (though its getting tough to keep track of all the various internet hosts). It really does feel, to me, like you're contributing more than just the money. And, on the other end, you're getting an album that you'd pay as much for, anyway. But this one's got a little bit of you in it. Very cool.
Now, on the video, here, Kathryn does a bit of a spiel about what the season means to her and I know that can sometimes be a bit dull or even off-putting if, like me, you're all about the music. But stick with it until she sings "Silent Night". It'a about a minute 13 in. I think you're going to like the voice(s) and the arrangement very much. At least I did.
And, while I'm on the subject, don't forget about The Fayetteville Ska Alliance. If you like Ska, Reggae, Punk, or New Wave at all, you're going to want to help make that Christmas album happen. Read all about it.
Anyway, here's Kathryn Brunner's video. You'll find her Rocket Hub page here with much more information.
