Well that was how I started this piece. You know.......... I just wanted..... for one freaking night........ to go to bed and get some sleep. Just ONE $#@%&#$% night.
So, about one in the morning, I figured I'd put up a couple of things up on Free page (it's that time of year again--best be checking regular like) and then a quickie for the front page and, with luck I coulda been in bed by 2:30. But NOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!! I hit the "publish" button and all of a sudden I'm looking at the blog version of Frankenstein's monster. Or, more accurately the fly with David Hedison's head ("Help me!"). A piece of this peanut butter is in that chocolate, there's an arm over there, a leg over there. The more I tried to fix it, it started bleeding into the other posts that had already been there for awhile. No matter what post I tried to edit, it would only show me Miranda Dodson's post for editing. For a brief time, the whole freakin' page was gone. All of it. Oh. My. God. What a friggin' nightmare. I think. I THINK. I think I've got it right again. I think. But, damn, it's 6 o'clock already. Forget sleep. Forget being on track with my planned posts for the next whatever number of days. Forget everything. And nothing to show for any of it, really. Well, a couple of newbies on the freebies page. There's that.
Well crap, I'm beat. I really need to get to a singles post soon, because those are backing up all over the place. With apologies to the Black Flamingos, for ranting all over what was supposed to be their post, here is their new digital Christmas single "How The Gurch Stole Christmas". An excellent tune that fits well with what we've been doing the last couple of days. The Black Flamingos are from my old stomping ground in Jersey, so I'm especially pleased to introduce them to you. You can get the single from Bandcamp or, if you prefer (and you might, rabbit, you might), "How The Gurch Stole Christmas" will be included on the upcoming Double Crown release, "Seasonal Favorites, Vol. 4". Still waiting for the official release date on that one, though I do have the cover art and track list (I really should get that up, huh?). 6:19 AM. Peace out.
