Michael W. Smith has just released details for his upcoming Christmas set, "The Spirit Of Christmas". Michael is no stranger to Christmas albums (officially, this is the Christian artist's fourth holiday set). But he decided to do something a little different this time. Backed by a full orchestra, Michael has teamed up with some of the brightest Christmas lights of Country music (and U2's Bono). I've liked his past Christmas work, but can't say I've loved it. This set could be extra special, though. Nothing says Christmas like a full orchestra with both horns and strings.
Smith produced the album with Robert Deaton and David Hamilton (who did the arrangements). Here's the tracklist and working cover art and then a little taste of "The Spirit Of Christmas", scheduled for release September 30.
