The Western Swing Authority are one of the top bands on the Canadian Country circuit and, listening to their new Christmas single, "I'm Sending You My Heart This Christmas", it's easy to see why. Sure, it's got a bit of twang, but mostly its got romance. And Stacey Lee Guse, wow, can that girl sing. You know, we obsessive Christmas music collectors are always trying to figure out which new songs have what it takes to go the distance and become a seasonal standard. And we're usually wrong. For one thing the right songs don't get heard by the right people. But I would so put my money on "I'm Sending You My Heart This Christmas". It already sounds like a standard. It's just gonna need a little time and exposure, a few cover versions from, oh, I dunno, Buble, Faith Hill, Norah Jones, somebody. Not that I think they could sing it any better than Stacey, but they get the proper exposure. Anyway, this is me doing my little bit to get the song heard, though I am but a lowly blogger. Grab The Western Swing Authority's Christmas single at Amazon, CD Baby, iTunes, or wherever you get your digital music these days.
